Star Trek: The Lost Generation
An interesting article on FoxNews.com reports that the absence of an official Trek property may actually be good for the franchise as a whole. It’s an interesting position:
The consensus was they should give the franchise a rest, overwhelmingly. They’d been wringing it out for so long, the ideas were getting less fresh, they needed a period of time to rejuvenate. Everyone expects it to come back, but in 10 years, eight years, giving it time to clean house and let some new ideas be generated.
Indeed, this may not be a bad thing for the franchise, but what about for the fans? The real question is, with Trek out of the picture, Star Wars finshed and the Matrix over, where will SciFi go from here? Battlestar Galactica suddenly seems on center stage - and, it is arguably the best show on television right now. Well, next season, actually.

Well, Star Wars isn’t actually dead. There’s supposed to be a TV show taking place between Episodes III and IV. I’m convinced The Matrix was a fluke. In the first one, everything came together. The action was superb and the Wachowskis’ pretentious philosophizing was kept to a minimum. The same can’t be said for Reloaded and Revolutions, which for lack of a better word, sucked. Sure, the action was cool, but the effects weren’t as revolutionary anymore. And who could forget the man in the white suit?
I haven’t caught Battlestar Galactica yet, cause I’m currently catching up on old seasons of Stargate SG1 (I hope to be done sometime after I return from boot camp). I haven’t watched the current season of Stargate any, though I’ve heard the series only gets better (I’m on the second now). I think 24 would also have to be in the running for “best show on TV,” though Season 4 was far better than this one.
