This used to be a good show. Now, the most exciting thing that happened here was the Unisys booth catching on fire.
To add insut to injury, I didn’t even win the iPod Nano, OR the Acer Ferrari notebook that my neighbor AMD was giving away. Still, it did draw a crowd. Helped me polish off the last of 750 Mainsoft frisbees that we handed out.
So, lets see:
2 days travel + 1 day setup + 3 days show = 6 days spent.
$2000.00 in travel + $3000.00 in show costs (and we didn’t even pay for our booth! Our partner IBM gave us part of theirs…) = $5000.00 spent

Maybe I’m not used to “the new math”, but something about this just doesn’t add up. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be any better for most of the other vendors.
Linux is great – its a real heavyweight in the industry. But, I’ve got to pronounce LinuxWorld Boston as officially DOA.
