In that matter, Bush took a rather liberal position, yet Democrats, sensing a political opportunity, savaged him on it.  5-10 years from now, when Iraq is a fully-functioning Democracy, and a crucial ally in the war on terror, war opponents of all stripes will switch from &quot;it can&#039;t be done&quot; to &quot;it wasn&#039;t worth it.&quot;  Never mind the staggering Dem hypocricy on the actual matter of the war.  As Victor Hanson points out, the Dems were for their &quot;perfect war&quot;, but against Bush&#039;s messy reconstruction.</description>
