		<description>Well, the &quot;company&quot; line is that the phones are subsidized to make purchasing them more affordable.  They can only do this when a specific revenue stream (meaning your monthly payment) is guaranteed.

Makes sense actually - how much stuff they pack into these phones is amazing.  You get a phone, a web browser, an email platform, a camera, a gps, WiFi and an IM client all for $400-$500 unsubsidized.  Pretty amazing when you think about it.

You can always pay that and get an unlocked phone that you can use on multiple networks, provided that they use the same protocols.

*SHRUG*  As screwed up as it is, it still beats stopping at a payphone.

Don&#039;t get me wrong - that is no excuse for these egregious customer service lapses.  That is inexcusable.</description>

It&#039;s ridiculous that they need to indenture you into a two year contract just to keep your business. WTF is that all about? You have to FORCE your customers to stay with you?!?!?
